Getting Started FAQ:
The Essentials of Website Building

There are a few necessities when it comes to getting a website live on the internet:

1.  Website Building Software
This is the tool that you will use to create your site just as Microsoft Word is a tool in which to create text documents.  Different kinds of website building software are built with different types of technology.
Easy Website Builder is built with Microsoft professional grade coding language ASP.net and uses robust SQL Server databases to store your data

2.  Hosting
In order for your site to exist on the internet, it must "live" somewhere.  Hosting is similar to the rent you pay for your office building.  Instead of an office building, your website sits on a server.  There are different kinds of servers that support different kinds of code languages.  You will need to choose a hosting plan that supports ASP.net and SQL Server. You will need to install your software on your server.  We recommend using our
hosting package at $14.95/month as we can stand behind it's dependability and have a step by step guide for getting your website set up and installed.

3.  Domain Name:
This is your site's name, such as www.yourname.org or www.yourname.com.  Your domain name also provides the extensions of your email addresses.  Domain names must be pointed to the place where your website is hosted.  In order to install your site on your hosted server, you'll need to have a domain name.  We currenly have a special where you can purchase a
domain name for only $1.99 with any other non-domain purchase, such as hosting.

Current Promotions with available with Hosing:

  • Free $25 Google Adwords Credit
  • A $1.99 Domain Name
  • 1,000 Free Email Addresses
  • Lifetime Software Upgrades and Updates

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Easy Website Builder so much easier than other web building tools?

In order to make even a small change with traditional web building tools, you need to locate the saved file on your computer, make the with a desktop editor, upload the page to your server with an FTP program, then manually go through the entire site and re-link any links that may have been affected.

With Easy Website Builder, the website IS the web editing software.  To make a change you just click the edit button, make the change, and click save.  We built this entire 80+ page site with Easy Website Builder.  To try it for yourself, go to: http://ewbdemo.ngenuitysolutions.com.  Login with the username: demoadmin and the password: admin.

We have a website but don't have anyone to make any changes.  How can we make our site work with Easy Website Builder?

This is probably the most common question we hear.  This is accomplished by copying and pasting your text from your current website, into the new site.  Transferring text content literally takes just a few minutes.  If you want your site to have the same look, we can create a template for you that matches your current one.  If you want a completely different look, you can accomplish this also.

I don't want my current website to be down while I'm building my new one.

Your current site won't need to be down while you are building your new one.  Most people purchase a secondary domain name - usually their current domain but with a different extention (.org, .com, .net).  Your new website and hosting are tied to your secondary domain name.  When your new site is ready, your orignial domain name can be set to "point" to the new site.  Visotrs will now be able to reach your site if they type either extention.  You can see an example of this with Craigslist.  Whether you type craigslist.com or craigslist.org, you will end up at the same place.

Do I need to continue paying for hosting on my old site?

You won't need to continue paying for hosting on your old site but you will want to keep your domain name current.  When you are finished building and your domain names are pointing to the new site, your new site will become your primary site.
