Build a Loyal Membership Base with an e-Newsletter

 

One of the most important actions you can take to increase your sales is to build a mailing list and keep in touch with current and potential customers with mailings they want to read.

Two Ingredients for Building and Maintaining a Profitable List

It costs exponentially less time, money, and effort to retain someone who is already interested then to attract a new customer. Building and retaining a list of warm leads is a 2-step process. First you need to give them a good reason to opt in to your emails and then you’ll have to deliver quality information to keep them.

Offer a Sign-up Incentive

If you’ve compiled enough great content, you’ll have a pretty good idea what will interest the people who visit your website. If you’ve built a website about self promotion then it’s likely that people visiting will be very interested in learning more about how to promote themselves. To encourage an opt-in, offer solid, valuable information such as an e-book or special report in exchange for a newsletter sign up.

Try experimenting with different offers and see which gets the best results. You can also offer different incentives on different pages of your site. If you have an events page that lists all of the upcoming happenings of interest to your readers, you may want to offer a different incentive and promise an email notification every time a new event is scheduled.
